Terms of Service
Rules for using GetPruf, what the service does and does not guarantee, and the obligations of both parties.
Last updated: April 15, 2026
1. Service Description
GetPruf is a resume screening service that analyzes uploaded resumes for indicators of fabrication, embellishment, and inconsistency. The service provides a risk score, detailed flags, and a downloadable report to support hiring decisions.
GetPruf is a decision-support tool. It is not a background check service, consumer reporting agency (CRA) under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), or employment verification service. GetPruf does not produce "consumer reports" as defined under FCRA. Results should not be used as the sole basis for hiring or rejection decisions. Users are responsible for compliance with all applicable employment laws, including FCRA, EEOC guidelines, and local regulations.
2. Acceptable Use
By using GetPruf, you agree to:
- Only upload resumes you have the right to screen
- Use results as one input in your hiring process, not the sole determinant
- Verify concerns raised by the system through direct contact with the candidate
- Comply with applicable employment laws in your jurisdiction
- Not use the service to discriminate against candidates based on protected characteristics
3. Accounts and Billing
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Each organization operates under a single tenant with its own quota and team members. The account owner is responsible for billing and team management.
Subscription plans are billed monthly. Unused credits do not roll over. You can cancel at any time - your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
4. Accuracy and Limitations
GetPruf uses AI models and web verification to assess resume content. While we strive for accuracy, the service has known limitations:
- Web verification depends on public information availability - many legitimate small companies have limited web presence
- AI analysis may produce false positives or false negatives
- The system adjusts scoring for non-native English speakers and industries with limited web presence, but bias cannot be fully eliminated
- Absence of web evidence does not prove fabrication
We provide risk scores and flags as indicators, not conclusions. Professional judgment is always required.
5. Data Handling
Uploaded resumes are processed for analysis and stored as part of your screening reports. Resume text is sent to enterprise AI inference providers for analysis. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data collection, retention, and security.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of all resumes you upload. GetPruf retains ownership of the screening reports, risk scores, and analysis methodology. You are granted a license to use, download, and share reports generated from your uploads for your internal hiring purposes.
7. Limitation of Liability
GetPruf is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for hiring decisions made based on our reports, false positives or negatives in screening results, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, use the service for illegal purposes, or attempt to reverse-engineer the screening methodology. You may delete your account at any time through the settings page.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
